Lucinda Winslow
Writer, Social Justice Advocate, Musician
Greetings!
I'm a writer, social justice advocate, and musician. And a builder of things--gardens, studios, theaters, books.
Right now I'm querying FRACTURE, an 88,300-word character-driven mystery-thriller somewhere between Tana French and Sara Paretsky with Jodi Piccoult’s multiple POV method for exploring complex issues. It is character-driven, well-written, with family secrets, women’s friendships, and social justice themes. I wrote it to explore the silos of wealth and poverty that divide us and block communication and solutions. Here's the gist:
On the brink of a late-career breakthrough, concert pianist Maggie Drake receives a key to the house of her only living relative, environmentalist Henry Bredon then drives 600 miles to Southwest Pennsylvania only to find he has disappeared amid an uproar over fracking. When police suspect her of Henry’s murder, Maggie risks her life and career to learn why Henry summoned her.
